Phoenix Day 7- Flight Home??

Our “last day” started off with relaxing at the hotel before heading to the airport. I enjoyed a Cinnamon Almondmilk Macchiato on the patio. Cherishing every last second of beautiful Arizona!

When we got to Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, we found out our flight had been delayed. Thankfully, there was this beautiful courtyard that we set up camp in to wait out the delay. There are outlets by the tables along the sides- Hallelujah! If I have to be stuck in an airport, I’ll take this one! Plus… Mother’s Rooms!!!

After a short wait, they came over the intercom to tell us our flight had been cancelled. Major bummer!!! Since we flew Allegiant, we were stuck until the next day. We grabbed our bags and took a taxi to a nearby Marriott in Chandler. Baby’s first taxi ride!

Courtyard Phoenix Chandler/Fashion Center became our third hotel of the trip. As you can tell, I’m pretty loyal to the Marriott brand. 🙂 I have mixed feelings about this hotel though. The location was decent, and the room was pretty great- the view of the desert and mountains was much better than my view at the JW.

But the service was horrible! We couldn’t get anyone to ever answer the phones at the front desk. Our air conditioner struggled. It wasn’t a horrible experience, but it wasn’t the best either- mainly because of the customer service.

However, the hotel did have a free shuttle, so we took the shuttle over to Chandler Fashion Center.

It wasn’t until this point, when we were outside walking around, that we noticed we were in the middle of a dust storm- apparently the reason our flight was cancelled! It was an unusual experience to walk around outside feeling the dust sting your face! And the mountains looked hazy in the distance, sometimes you couldn’t even see them.

We were pretty tired, so we walked the mall a little bit then grabbed take out from California Pizza Kitchen and headed back to the hotel to relax.

Ended the night by just staring out the hotel window at the beautiful view!
